Tom and Jerry Tales: The Complete First Season - Overview
Tom and Jerry gave the phrase "playing cat and mouse" new hilarious meaning when the two characters originally came on the scene. The animated shorts about their escapades have won many awards and have stood the test of time. Tom and Jerry Tales, produced by Warner Bros. Animation, is a TV series that began in 2006 and is based on the original Tom & Jerry series.
Each episode of Tom and Jerry Tales delivers three cartoon stories, which have an updated look, but rely on the same comedic rivalry and physical humor as the original series. The 2-disc first season collection includes 13 episodes, or 39 tales, featuring one of the most famous and funny rivalries of all time.
Tom and Jerry Tales: The Complete First Season - Guide Review
The original Tom and Jerry series used music and physical humor to entertain kids and adults alike. The show found hilarious success in many countries, won a lot of awards, and has stood the test of time. Tom and Jerry Tales continues the series with a new, updated cartoon that relies on the same musical and physical humor. Tom and Jerry Tales is still funny, especially to kids, and Tom and Jerry's newer adventures happen in many imaginative settings and locations from exotic dinosaur-inhabited islands to outer space. But, Tom and Jerry Tales lacks a little of the charm of the original series, and it does not rely on the music as much to further and enhance the story.
Like many cartoons, the physical comedy in Tom and Jerry shows characters getting smashed, beaten up by various objects, thrown around, and much more, but they always bounce back unscathed. Hence, each episode contains a lot of violence of a cartoonish nature, which often includes pranks, chases, and very creative fights between Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse. Despite their contentious relationship, though, there is the sense that, deep down, Tom and Jerry kinda like each other.
